Monell Center Science Apprenticeship Program
Monell Center Science Apprenticeship Program offers paid internships to high school and undergraduate college students in the Philadelphia area. The internship is designed to increase student knowledge about science and research.
The 7-week internship is offered during the summer and runs from June to August. Interns work full-time at 35 hours per week, with pay. Housing and meals are not included, but all students living outside commuting distance will be connected to a host family and will have a safe place to stay during the internship.
The internship is highly competitive, placing about 10 percent of students who apply. Each year, the program accepts 18-24 students as summer interns. Students of all genders, race, and ethnicity may apply. The program is designed to promote diversity in the sciences, so students from underrepresented groups will be given preference.
The Monell Center is the world’s only independent, non-profit scientific institute dedicated to research on the senses of taste and smell. It was established in 1968 and is located at the University City Science Center research campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The location is usually in PENNSYLVANIA.
