KPCC Online News Internship

KPCC Online News Internship and JobsOnline News Internship is an opportunity for a college journalism major to gain valuable experience in a newsroom environment. This is an unpaid position for experience and college credit only.

Interns will cover stories for KPCC.org, the Southern California Public Radio web site. They will work 6 hours per day for 2-3 days a week. Summer internships run June-September, fall internships run September-January, and spring internships are from January to May.


Applicants must be journalism majors with excellent writing, editing, research & communication skills. In addition, they must have experience with social media and know current news in Los Angeles. Knowledge of public radio and prior experience in a newsroom is an added bonus.

Interns will be responsible for covering news stories and shows a well as assisting reporters and producers. Internships last from 3 to 9 months. This position is for students who like working in a fast-paced environment and juggling several projects at once. Completing projects within tight deadlines are part of expectations for internship performance.

American Public Media is a non-profit organization and the nation's largest owner and operator of public radio stations and distributor of public radio programming.
