Cato Institute Internships
Cato Institute paid internships offer work experience opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent graduates and law students. Students may be pursuing any major and be eligible to apply.
Internships are available in the Fall, Spring and Summer. Full-time interns are paid a stipend. Students may choose areas such as health care reform, constitutional law, energy policy, and foreign and military policy. Interns are matched to their field of interest. Some of their work may involve assisting with research and data collection, or working in media relations.
All interns will also be assigned clerical duties, special events, preparation for public forums and debates. In addition, interns will be expected to attend weekly seminars and participate in workshops that teach research and writing skills.
The internships are sponsored by the Cato Institute, a research organization that focuses on public policy issues. Since their beginning in 1977, the organization has promoted interest in free markets, free trade, limited government, and a no-interference policy regarding foreign affairs.
