IRS Internships
IRS Internships are open to all students majoring in accounting and enrolled in a Master's degree program. The paid internship offers students a work experience that will provide a preview into an accounting career with the IRS.
The internship is with the IRS Large Business and International Division and is offered during the summer. Qualifying students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above and be able to work 40 hours a week. The work consists of assisting with tax accounting functions for corporations who have assets greater than $10 million.
In addition to real-life work experience, interns will receive pay plus employee benefits such as flex schedules, overtime pay, and paid holidays. Internships with the IRS can also lead to full-time, permanent positions following graduation from college.
Internships may be located at IRS offices throughout the U.S. and internationally. Interested students may check the web site to see what opportunities are available at offices in their location.
