Rand Internships are offered by the Rand Corporation for graduate students to acquire new knowledge and skills through several RAND programs. The programs offer experience in research areas that relate to national security and social policy.

The internships are paid 12-week programs for students who have completed at least two years of their graduate work. Students must be currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university in the U.S. working towards an advanced or professional degree.


Students will work in state-of-the-art research facilities with full access to databases, training and consulting. The research internships are offered in the areas of engineering, computer science, math, statistics, political science and history, economics, sociology, psychology, anthropology, and criminology. Interested students must apply online and include a cover letter, resume, and response to questions regarding their interest in the internship and relative experience and expertise in their chosen internship area.

Rand Corporation is a non-profit organization headquartered in Santa Monica, California, that does research in the areas of health, education, national security, international affairs, law and business, and the environment to help improve policy and decision-making in critical areas.
