New York City Government Internships
New York City Government Internships offer an exciting opportunity for college students to spend the summer in New York City while learning skills that will help them prepare for careers. Internships are open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Applicants must be currently enrolled as full-time students at an accredited college or university. Students have the opportunity to apply for an internship is any one of many NYC government agencies, including Chief Medical Examiner, Department of Aging, Human Resources Administration, Information Technology and Telecommunications Department, Office of the Mayor, Parks and Recreation Department, and many more.
Internships are available between from May to September for a maximum of 13 weeks. Many internships include salary or a stipend, while others may be for credit only. To apply, students may complete an application and return it with their resume and a cover letter, to the agency to which they are applying.
The internships are offered through New York City's Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS). DCAS is responsible for finding resources that support city agencies which enables them to provide the best possible services to New York City residents.
