Spectrum Internships
Spectrum Internships are available to college students interested in television production and programming. Summer interns will help plan, execute and coordinate various aspects of news media.
Intern candidates must be able to work 16-24 hours per week. Ideal candidates will have coursework or previous internship experience in communications, journalism or a related field. Applicants must also have a strong interest in journalism and news, excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills, leadership and organizational abilities.
This summer internships does not include salary, but students may arrange with their educational institute to receive college credit. Interns will assist with monitoring of breaking news, researching and compiling data for stories, developing contacts, and writing and observing the editing process. Interns will have opportunities to go out in the field on shoots, and assist with newsroom live shots and on-set interviews. This is a great opportunity for interns to develop knowledge and experience in broadcast news gathering, bureau operations, and field production.
Spectrum is a brand of Charter Communications used to market consumer cable television, Internet, and telephone provided by the company, and formerly provided by Time Warner Cable, which Charter Communications acquired in May 2016.
